Raw Juice Link Up pt. 14 » MORRI$ by RAW JUICE
Tell us about yourself, who are you, where are you from?
I’m Philesciono Canty and I’m from Kansas.
How long have you been producing & DJing?
I’ve been producing since 2005, started off with Fruity Loops and graduated to Ableton in 2006. Been DJing professionally since 2008, but my dad was a DJ so I’ve been comfortable spinning since I was a child.
What is your favorite piece of studio equipment?
My favorite piece of studio equipment is my Akai APC40, it is integral to my home set up. I’ve been doing more research about the live possibilities of the piece, so maybe I’ll be using it more to DJ soon.
What is your musical influences and where do you get your inspiration from?
Musical influences are varied. I grew up very into Prince and the quiet storm vibes my mom enjoyed listening to. On the other hand, my dad was really into hip hop, downtempo, and drum and bass so I got a fair amount of that via him. Then came Dipset, which I was very into for a number of years. Nowadays, I listen to lots of pop music and radio rap but I get a fair balance from the UK electronic scene.

Affairs (demo) by MΔRRI$
Do you have any forthcoming projects / releases ?
No forthcoming releases, I’ve got a few things in the works but I prefer to remain quiet while things reach maturation.
What other producers do you rate at the moment?
Top producers for me right now: Johnny Juliano, Tom Richman, Krampfhaft, Ifan Dafydd, Sinjin Hawke, Cedaa, Lol Boys
What is your five top tunes at the moment?
Drake - Trust Issues, that whole Richelle record, Krampfhaft - Making Magic, Rustie - Cry Flames, Spank Rock - DTF DADT, Greg Enemy - Angels in the Outfield, Soulja Boy - Different Girl
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years I hope i’m doing production more professionally. I’d love to be working with radio ready artists, it’s never really been my goal to be an underground artist.
Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Guilty Pleasure right now? Definitely Katy Perry, I love her songs and I love her look. The bitch is bad.
